Creating a digital story successfully depends on one’s ability to plan the process first. Here is an overview of the process of creating a digital story. Write a script for your story: All stories begin with an idea. This idea could be the topic of a lesson or a question asked in class. Decide on your topic and write your script. Create a digital audio clip of your story: You need to have a microphone and a software package to record your story into your computer. When you are ready to record your script, find a quiet place to record. Record only short sections of your story at one time. Select and edit the images you will use in your story: You can find images in many places: taken with a digital camera, scanned with a scanner, or on the Internet. Smartphones work very well for digital storytelling. Combine the sound and the images together in a video editing program: You need to have a video editing program to put all your files together. Import your audio clips, images and videos in video editing program and combine it altogether. Add background music, titles, transitions and effects: At this stage, you can blend images, create unique transitions between video clips and use sound effects. Publishing your story: Now, you can share your digital story online. You can also create a DVD with your video to share with your friends and family.
