19. Miss Colony is working for an organization called ‘Hopes for Future’. She is on a
radio programme now. Read the dialogue. Match the sentences in bold with the posters
in exercise 18.
Reporter : Miss Colony, could you tell us about ‘Hopes for Future’? What is it?
Miss Colony : It is an organization and it works for animals in danger. You know some animals became extinct because people hunted them for different reasons.
Reporter : Which animals are now extinct?
Miss Colony : Animals such as dodos, mammoths, dinosaurs and Tasmanian tigers. Today pandas, turtles and Siberian tigers are in danger.
Reporter : So, what should we do to protect wildlife?
Miss Colony : First of all, (1) we shouldn’t hunt them. (2) We should help them to survive. Forests are their natural habitats. So, (3) we should protect forests. (4) We shouldn’t cut down the trees. (5) We should stop water pollution. Sea creatures need it.
Reporter : What is your last message for our listeners?
Miss Colony : Animals are our friends and they are the real owners of the world.
Reporter : Thank you, Miss Colony.
